The Mobile Installation Technician position is crucial for ensuring the installation and maintenance of emergency warning equipment and other related technologies in various vehicles. This role requires a hands-on approach to installing systems that enhance public safety, including vehicle lighting, sirens, cameras, and electronic locks. As a Mobile Installation Technician, you will be responsible for dismantling the interiors and exteriors of vehicles to prepare them for the installation of new systems. This includes working with a diverse range of vehicle makes and models, from sedans to commercial trucks and motorcycles. You will also be tasked with troubleshooting and diagnosing any issues with the equipment, ensuring that all installations are completed to the highest standards. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential, as is the ability to complete all necessary paperwork and documentation related to your installations. The position offers extensive on-the-job training and opportunities for professional development, including coverage for certification fees. Responsibilities

  • Perform installation of emergency warning equipment.
  • Test and troubleshoot emergency warning equipment.
  • Install vehicle lighting, controls, sirens, cameras, electronic locks, and other similar technologies.
  • Dismantle the interior and exterior of new vehicles to prepare for installation of new systems.
  • Install radio communications systems, antennas, and GPS equipment into vehicles or mobile command centers.
  • Install electrical wiring, connect electrical fittings, drill holes, and solder as necessary.
  • Complete installations for a diverse range of vehicle makes and models, including sedans, SUVs, commercial trucks, buses, motorcycles, and ATVs.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain and track materials for jobs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly tools and work area.
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Experience or knowledge of vehicle audio systems, mobile video systems, vehicle remote starters, and vehicle security systems is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of installation and troubleshooting two-way radios, sirens, warning lights, and other public safety vehicular equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, volt meter, power tools, drill press, and other related tools.
  • General knowledge of electrical diagrams is required.
  • Must possess a collection of personal tools to perform the required tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in installation and troubleshooting of two-way radios, sirens, warning lights, and other public safety vehicular equipment.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and work independently without supervision.
