About the position

McCarthy Tire Service Co, one of the largest independent tire dealers in North America, is seeking a full-time Mobile Mechanic for our location in Winchester, VA. This position is crucial for our operations as it involves performing mechanical and trailer repairs on-site, ensuring that our fleet remains operational and our customers receive timely service. The Mobile Mechanic will be responsible for conducting repairs on trailers and medium to heavy trucks, including performing preventive maintenance services such as oil changes and lubrication. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, as the mechanic will interact with current and future customers while providing high-quality service. The ideal candidate will possess a valid driver's license and must be able to pass a DOT physical. Problem-solving capabilities are essential, as the mechanic will often work independently to diagnose and resolve issues. Experience with mobile mechanics and a Class 7 Inspection license are preferred, but not mandatory. The position may require night runs and some overtime, including after-hours service calls, so flexibility in scheduling is important. Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs on trailers and medium to heavy trucks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance services such as oil changes and lubrication.
• Provide excellent customer service while interacting with customers.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues independently.
• Complete night runs and respond to after-hours service calls as needed.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license is required.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
• Experience in mechanical and trailer repairs is necessary.
• Ability to perform PM services on medium to heavy trucks.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent customer service skills are essential.

Nice-to-haves
