About the position

The position is responsible for leading the daily operations of mobile blood bank personnel and processes, ensuring quality control and administrative duties are performed as instructed by the Supervisor. The role emphasizes maintaining donor/patient confidentiality, monitoring work activities, and providing leadership to achieve customer satisfaction. The individual will oversee donor reaction care, manage staff, and implement policies for operational success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of mobile blood bank personnel and processes.
  • Perform quality control and administrative duties as instructed by Supervisor.
  • Maintain donor/patient/employee confidentiality.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of work activities.
  • Provide leadership and coordinate resources for mobile drives.
  • Implement policies and procedures for operational success.
  • Supervise initiatives to improve processes and maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure high employee morale and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform all duties of a Blood Bank Tech and oversee donor reaction care.
  • Handle emergent donor reaction care and ensure documentation is completed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 7 years experience in a healthcare-related field.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Computer skills for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications and specific software packages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in decision making and delegating tasks.

Nice-to-haves
