About the position

The Mobile Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all bloodmobile donor collection activities, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory guidelines, and safety standards. This role involves managing staff, developing training programs, and ensuring quality assurance in donor collection processes. The manager will also handle scheduling, performance monitoring, and customer service issues related to donor collections.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all bloodmobile donor collection activities.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and safety standards.
  • Assist in developing and implementing corrective action plans for non-compliance or operational issues.
  • Interview, hire, and onboard mobile donor collection staff.
  • Counsel, evaluate, and provide feedback to staff to foster a supportive team environment.
  • Prepare and maintain mobile collection staff work schedules.
  • Collaborate with fixed site managers to coordinate staff assignments.
  • Oversee the automated time and attendance system for mobile staff.
  • Develop and monitor training and competency plans for mobile donor collection staff.
  • Analyze donor suitability and resolve suitability issues; escalate unresolved issues to the director.
  • Monitor staff deferral rates and report findings to the director.
  • Conduct regular audits of donor collection activities to ensure adherence to SOPs.
  • Ensure timely follow-up for adverse donor reactions and respond to customer service issues.
  • Set and track individual and team performance goals and standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and encourage staff growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experience in blood donor collections (e.g., phlebotomy).
  • Three years of supervisory experience.
