About the position

The Mobile Product Manager at Splunk will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Product Experience Enablement & Systems team by driving strategy, implementation, and execution across mobile products. This position involves collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams to enhance mobile app experiences, ensuring that customers can effectively manage their businesses on the go. The role focuses on unifying the mobile product line, developing product roadmaps, and simplifying user experiences for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collect customer, sales, and market input for product use cases and validate them across target markets.
  • Build product requirements documents for each product release.
  • Support development in creating detailed engineering requirements for individual features.
  • Define and drive product roadmaps and feature prioritization, tracking corresponding engineering releases.
  • Capture requirements and feedback from early adopter customers and incorporate them into the roadmap.
  • Work cross-functionally with other Splunk product teams to deliver unified value.
  • Support product training and sales activities.
  • Serve as the subject matter guide to Splunk's field operations on mobile products.
  • Collaborate with product marketing to create customer-driven messaging and content.
  • Help formulate and execute go-to-market strategies, driving early adoption and measuring success.
  • Collaborate with external partners and industry experts to integrate relevant insights into the mobile roadmap.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in mobile-specific roles.
  • Solid understanding of mobile platforms, their differences, advantages, and limitations.
  • Strong understanding of mobile application development and release cycles.
  • Familiarity with mobile analytics tools (e.g., Firebase, Mixpanel, Splunk) for data-informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with app store submission processes for both Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  • Awareness of privacy regulations and compliance requirements relevant to mobile apps.
  • Self-motivation and a strong passion for collaboration and partnership.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple functions and levels of the organization.
  • Strong project execution skills, attention to detail, and a risk-mitigation mentality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of iOS and Android design guidelines and user interface principles.
  • Experience with mobile accessibility solutions.
  • Experience with chart and data-driven products.
  • Knowledge of at least one OTA translation service like Lokalise.
