About the position

The Mobile Service Technician position at Ryder in Spokane, Washington, is a permanent full-time role focused on maintaining and repairing heavy-duty vehicles. The technician will work independently and interact with customers to ensure high-quality service and satisfaction. This mid-level position offers competitive pay, bonuses for certifications, and a structured work schedule from Sunday to Wednesday on the second shift.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers and manage accounts to facilitate preventative maintenance and repair issue resolution.
  • Coordinate work schedules as required by customers and road test vehicles to identify repair needs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on various vehicle systems including A/C, brakes, electrical systems, and more.
  • Utilize the Shop Management System and electronic documentation for maintenance records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during maintenance activities.
  • Accountable for key maintenance measurements related to inspections and performance of PMs, brakes, tires, and wheels.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational or Technical Certification in vehicle maintenance and repair services preferred.
  • One year or more mechanical experience working offsite at customer locations preferred.
  • Must have minimum tools required to perform job duties as outlined in Ryder's Maintenance policy.
  • Valid NonCommercial Driver License CLASS E, Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A and/or State driver's license as required.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to company policies in all areas.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Customer service experience in a technical environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
