About the position

The Mobile Service Technician at Environmental Equipment Sales and Service LLC is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on various types of heavy equipment and vehicles in the field at customer locations. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The technician will work under limited supervision, interpreting schematics and assembly drawings, and utilizing vehicle computer electronics systems to diagnose and repair equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Conduct inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic systems, and light body modifications.
• Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
• Interpret schematics and assembly drawings for repairs.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and maintain compliance with safety procedures.
• Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software for documenting repairs and parts usage.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards.
• Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Operate various shop tools and equipment, including forklifts and hand tools.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or job-related coursework preferred.
• 5 years of electrical troubleshooting experience.
• 5 years of hydraulics experience.
• 3 years of mechanical knowledge or experience.
• Valid driver's license and transportation.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in awkward positions.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in the refuse industry/environment.
• Welding and fabricating experience.
• Automotive or other mechanical knowledge.
