About the position

The Mobile Therapist/Behavioral Consultant (MT/BC) role focuses on providing intensive behavioral health services to children and families. The position involves conducting assessments to gather client histories, guiding treatment goals, and delivering individual, family, and group psychotherapy. The MT/BC aims to stabilize and improve the behavioral needs of children, offering strength-based therapeutic services in various settings outside of traditional provider agencies. The role emphasizes a child-centered, family-focused approach, assisting in crisis stabilization and skill transfer to the client's support system.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments to gather client history and inform treatment goals.
  • Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy to clients.
  • Assist with crisis stabilization and address behavioral problems encountered by clients.
  • Deliver services in a child-centered and family-focused manner.
  • Develop strategies for skill transfer to the client's natural support system.
  • Provide strength-based intensive therapeutic services in various settings.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling from an accredited university/college.
  • Licensure as a behavioral specialist in the Commonwealth or one year of full-time experience in mental health services for children/youth/young adults.
  • Licensure as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or clinical social worker, or one year of full-time experience in mental health services and a graduate degree with clinical practice credits.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with the ASD population.
  • Additional education or experience in accordance with current state regulations.
