About the position

The Mobile/Web Developer (.Net) at the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) is responsible for gathering user requirements, performing systems design and analysis, and developing and testing web applications and database integrations. This role involves collaboration with various technology specialists to implement projects that align with corporate technical architecture standards. The developer will also evaluate current and future IT technologies for deployment throughout the Association, ensuring compliance with development policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Gather user requirements and perform systems design and analysis.
  • Develop and test web applications and application/database integrations.
  • Collaborate with Web Architects, Web Developers, Data Analysts, and other technology specialists.
  • Research, identify, and recommend design and technology infrastructure alternatives.
  • Assist in the design of new alternatives when appropriate.
  • Provide input to management regarding technology direction and technical problems.
  • Develop IT project plans and program development for database and web/mobile projects.
  • Evaluate current and future IT technologies for possible deployment throughout the Association.
  • Define the vision of ALPA's data store and translate reporting requirements into physical database repositories.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental, MEC, and Association development, application, and data policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Web Applications, or related field required; master's degree preferred.
  • Three years of related experience required; five or more strongly preferred.
  • Expertise with DNN, Coveo, .Net MVC, C#, SQL Server, and Tableau preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft .Net Framework.
  • Proficiency in web markup, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; client-side scripting; and jQuery.
  • Experience using CMS, advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, and RESTful Services and APIs is a plus.
  • Experience with Visual Studio SSIS and the development of ETL and data wrangling processes is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience defining data structures and data integration practices for business intelligence uses.
  • Experience using automation and web performance tools.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle DB and Python.
  • Experience in end-user security administration.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles.
