About the position

The Mobility Field Service Representative at SAIC will support the Combat and Strategic Systems Operation by providing maintenance and training on Medium and Light Tactical Vehicle Platforms. This role involves hands-on technical work, including identifying and replacing components, conducting functional tests, and ensuring vehicles are operational. The position requires travel to various locations up to 50% of the time and adherence to safety protocols while performing maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and replace components and conduct functional tests to return articles to service.
  • Document maintenance and inspection actions.
  • Review technical documentation to identify planned maintenance action requirements.
  • Review and implement service advisory/service bulletins.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for changes and improvements to equipment installation, operation, modification, and maintenance.
  • Support all vehicle systems including communication, engine repair, automatic and manual transmission, suspensions, brakes, electronic systems, heating and air, and ancillary systems.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree and a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in integration, installation, repair, and preventative maintenance efforts for Military wheeled vehicles.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Available for a flexible work schedule, including extended or weekend hours, sometimes on short notice, to include holidays as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Relevant experience to provide classroom and physical practical exercise instruction for Field Level Maintenance New Equipment Training (FLMNET) for LTV platforms.
  • Formally trained mechanic either through Military or formal Postsecondary education.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DD OF346 (U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card).
  • Ability to perform all duties while adhering to all prescribed safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of parts, materials, and processes related to electrical and mechanical components.
  • Ability to use various hand, power-driven, and specialty tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, handbooks, sketches, block diagrams, schematics, and blueprint drawings.
  • Ability to install mounts, brackets, cables, connectors, electronic equipment, and labels.
  • Ability to annotate and modify documentation into databases.
  • Ability to perform quality repairs in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain serialized parts inventory, including warranty tracking.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have a valid passport and be able to travel to various locations as needed, up to 50%.
  • Physical ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • GM, ASE A1/A8 Certification or Master ASE certification
  • Medium/Heavy Duty and Light Duty diesel experience
  • Experience working with Cat-ET, DG Diagnostics, and the DANA testing tool (two or more years)
  • Knowledge of quality systems (e.g., inspection process, company quality procedures)
  • Strong mechanical skills and experience supporting military ground tactical vehicles: troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation, and checkout procedures.
