About the position

The Mobility Technician at Mount Carmel Health System plays a crucial role in assisting with the safe transfer and ambulation of patients, as identified by the multidisciplinary team. This position aims to facilitate early mobility to reduce deconditioning, fall risk, pressure ulcers, and length of stay, while enhancing patient satisfaction. The technician is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and promoting a culture of safety within the healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safe transfers and ambulation of patients identified by the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including barriers to meeting program goals.
• Exhibit Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards, demonstrating friendliness and effective communication.
• Promote a Culture of Safety by adhering to policies and procedures to prevent workplace injury and adverse outcomes.
• Create a caring and healing environment that centers on the patient and family throughout their care experience.
• Communicate with the care team regarding patient progress and barriers to meeting program goals.
• Ensure compliance with Organizational Integrity by reporting any actual or potential wrongdoing.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year of direct patient care experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills.
