In this role, the Mobility Technician is responsible for providing patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification, or registration, adhering to federal and state laws and regulations. Key responsibilities include transporting and transferring patients while observing safety precautions, applying therapeutic modalities as assigned, and monitoring patient responses to treatments. The technician will also maintain a clean and orderly workplace, ensuring that equipment and supplies are properly stored and that treatment areas are kept in good condition. Additionally, the Mobility Technician will function as a patient advocate, maintaining patient confidentiality and promoting a positive patient experience. The role requires excellent customer service skills, as the technician will interact with patients, families, and team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist therapists and therapy assistants in preparation and treatment of patients receiving therapy services.
  • Provide patient care as requested by therapists, including transporting and transferring patients while observing safety precautions.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities as assigned by therapists after competency testing.
  • Carry out specific treatment activities under the direction/supervision of licensed clinicians.
  • Monitor patient responses to treatments and provide written/verbal feedback to therapists and therapy assistants.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workplace, including acquiring and replacing equipment and supplies after treatment.
  • Clean and maintain equipment according to department infection control policies and procedures.
  • Maintain storage and inventory of equipment and supplies, ensuring adequate clean linen supply and changing linen as needed.
  • Function as a patient advocate and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Organize and maintain patient chargeable equipment inventory as needed.
  • Assume patient care and clerical duties under therapist direction across all inpatient programs and/or disciplines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • BLS Certification - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA Approved.
  • Understanding of basic principles of human growth and development.
  • Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs based on age.

  • Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Aide.
