About the position

The Mobility Technician at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation plays a crucial role in assisting therapists and therapy assistants in the preparation and treatment of patients receiving therapy services. This position involves providing patient care, monitoring patient responses, maintaining a clean and orderly workplace, and functioning as a patient advocate. The Mobility Technician is integral to ensuring that patients receive high-quality care in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists and therapy assistants in the preparation and treatment of patients receiving therapy services.
• Transport and transfer patients while observing safety precautions and good body mechanics.
• Apply therapeutic modalities as assigned by the therapist after competency testing.
• Carry out specific treatment activities under the direction of licensed clinicians.
• Monitor patient responses to treatments and provide feedback to therapists and therapy assistants.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workplace, including cleaning and maintaining equipment according to infection control policies.
• Organize and maintain patient chargeable equipment inventory and training equipment.
• Assume patient care and clerical duties under therapist direction across all inpatient programs and/or disciplines.
• Function as a patient advocate and maintain patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• High school Diploma or GED Equivalent
• BLS Certification - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA Approved
• Understanding of basic principles of human growth and development
• Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs based on age.
