About the position

The Senior Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) role involves leveraging technical skills and big-picture thinking to develop systems that support the mission of the Department of Defense (DoD). The engineer will be part of a Digital Battlespace Platform team, responsible for designing and evolving systems with advanced technology solutions. This position requires a strong understanding of customer needs and the ability to translate those into technical specifications, ultimately delivering customer-focused engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop systems for the Digital Battlespace Platform team.
  • Translate real-world needs into technical specifications for engineering solutions.
  • Provide direction, coordination, and guidance to the Systems Engineering team.
  • Support DoD engineering projects with a focus on installation command control communications systems.
  • Merge systems engineering with installation communications to create DoD enterprise-managed service capabilities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in engineering.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Magic Draw, Cameo, or SysML.
  • Experience supporting DoD engineering projects.
  • Ability to provide direction and guidance to the Systems Engineering team.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with modeling tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architect, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or IBM Rhapsody.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks like DoDAF 2.0 and UAF.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace and Defense industry, particularly Systems Engineering for C2 systems.
  • Understanding of capability requirements generation at the Service level.
  • Ability to plan and deliver capability demonstrations in an Agile cadence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • Object Management Group certification, Certified System Modeling Language Professional, or Model User and Builder certification.
