About the position

The Senior Systems Engineer will aid the Program Manager in supporting the PMA 266 customer and in the execution of assigned engineering duties. This role involves leading Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) activities, capturing stakeholder needs, and developing system models. The engineer will provide expertise in MBSE/SysML and support the transition from document-based to model-based architectures. Responsibilities include generating model-based design specifications, coordinating with various disciplines, maintaining project tracking systems, and conducting site visits to address engineering problems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) activities using commercial MBSE tools.
  • Elicit and capture stakeholder needs in models.
  • Develop and extend system models using existing requirements and design documents.
  • Provide MBSE/SysML expertise to the systems engineering team.
  • Participate in converting from document-based to model-based architectures.
  • Generate complete model-based design specifications of complex projects.
  • Coordinate with engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines.
  • Establish and maintain a filing system or databases for project tracking.
  • Develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and specifications.
  • Direct interface with customers from quotation to final design and test activities.
  • Conduct site visits to investigate engineering problems and propose solutions.
  • Verify compliance with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
  • Support development of technical proposals and provide comments on technical content.

Requirements

  • Excellent communications and analytical skills.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tool sets and software.
  • Experience in creating Modeling and Simulation reports.
  • Experience in producing systems engineering analysis reports.
  • Familiarity with materials analyses.
  • Experience in risk analysis and risk analysis reports.
  • Familiarity with current best practices for 2D and 3D CAD modeling.
  • Experience in providing engineering design analysis.
  • Familiarity with DOD Acquisition Life Cycle.
  • Experience with No Magic CameoTM, MATLAB, SIMULINK, Systems Tool Kit, and/or Solid Works.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in engineering or related STEM discipline.
  • Preferred degree in Computer Science, Physics, Math, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 15+ years experience in the field or related area.
