About the position
The Model UN Advisor position at Marple Newtown High School is a part-time role for the 2024-2025 school year. The advisor will guide and mentor students participating in Model UN conferences, helping them develop essential skills such as leadership, personal growth, and effective communication. The role involves preparing students for their conference roles, ensuring adherence to conference rules, and providing support throughout the conference experience.
Responsibilities
- Mentor, guide, and chaperone delegates at conferences.
- Help delegates develop leadership, personal growth, and service skills.
- Ensure delegates follow conference rules, including the Code of Conduct and Delegate Expectations.
- Assist delegates in preparing for their roles, including conference preparation, research, training, and creating timelines.
- Provide intellectual, administrative, and personal support to students.
- Encourage students to take charge of their delegation while balancing involvement.
- Hold students accountable for using resources and sharing what they've learned.
- Manage and supervise student behavior during activities.
- Attend and supervise students at scheduled events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Administration.
Requirements
- Valid PA teaching certificate.
- Knowledge of the Model United Nations global experience.
- Organizational, managerial, and communicative skills.
