About the position

The Mid-level Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MS&A) Engineer at Peraton will leverage technical and analytical skills to optimize the Intelligence Community's (IC) GEOINT data delivery. This role involves conducting modeling, simulation, and analysis to support business stakeholders, analysts, and warfighters, ensuring timely and accurate GEOINT. The engineer will work with complex models and tools to identify trends in Big Data and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that enhance mission capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Government with the development and use of complex models, tools, and algorithms to identify trends and patterns in Big Data.
  • Support the development of models for NGA's architectures, requirements, and systems performance, considering NGA and NSG strategies.
  • Create models to support analysis of alternatives, performance trades, design trades, and new capabilities.
  • Develop alternatives for deployment based on MS&A results in existing NSG architectures and cloud environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.
  • 6 years of technical experience is required; if this experience is as a MS&A Engineer, it may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 6 years of working experience in government or industry modeling large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments.
  • Programming & Scientific Computing experience with at least one of the following: Python, R, Julia, C++, or MATLAB.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools, and languages.
  • A minimum of 6 years of working experience in Operations Research.
  • Knowledge of 'Big' data wrangling & HPC programming tools (e.g. data.table, Polars, Apache Arrow, Apache Spark).
  • Data visualization using scripting language package APIs (e.g. ggplot2, Matplotlib, Plotly, D3).
  • Data driven web application prototyping (e.g. R Shiny, Dash, Bokeh, Flask, Tableau, React).
