About the position

Radiance Technologies is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Air Operations Modeling and Simulation Developer to enhance aerospace modeling and simulation capabilities for the US Air Force, Space Force, and Department of Defense. This role involves developing digital models and frameworks for aircraft, weapons, sensors, and communications systems, contributing to the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) simulation. The position requires strong technical skills and the ability to translate customer requirements into effective modeling solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop digital models and frameworks for aerospace systems including aircraft, weapons, sensors, and communications systems.
• Enhance the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) simulation capabilities.
• Interact with customers to analyze and translate their requirements into modeling solutions.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and scientists within the team.
• Utilize CI/CD tools and source control for software development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3 years of experience in C++, C#, Python, or Java development.
• Experience using source control and CI/CD tools such as git, Bitbucket, or Gitlab.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated with a passion for mentoring and developing young engineers and scientists.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite and integrated development environments (Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, etc.).
• Experience following agile development processes.
• Experience in modeling military systems and developing physics-based models in simulation frameworks.
• US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• M&S experience related to air platforms, propulsion systems, flight dynamics and controls, sensor systems, and communication devices.
• Experience developing novel model frameworks and tools for kinematic and cognitive simulation.
• Experience using modeling and simulation tools and designing MS&A visualization tools.
• Familiarity with SysML and Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools.
• Experience using AFSIM and conducting quantitative analysis.
• Familiarity with DoD security practices.
