About the position

The Wireless Software group at Apple is seeking a highly skilled individual to design, develop, and patent next-generation wireless connectivity technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. This role involves collaborating across departments to enhance customer experiences with Apple products and services, ensuring seamless connectivity. The position requires hands-on involvement in diagnostics, analytics, and code review to drive improvements in wireless systems, contributing to the development of industry-defining technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop wireless connectivity technologies including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
• Collaborate with various teams to craft wireless solutions that enhance customer experience.
• Conduct diagnostics, analytics, and lab/field experiments to identify improvement opportunities.
• Work with platform architecture and firmware/protocol development teams to drive optimization proposals.
• Lead technology areas independently to ensure product quality.
• Engage in all aspects of Protocol software including PHY, RF, SIM, NAS, AS, IP, TCP/UDP, and iOS interfaces.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in Wireless System Testing, Certification, IOT, and/or Cellular System Performance.
• Solid experience with 5G NR PHY/MAC and higher layer control and user planes.
• Experience in defining, developing, and validating cellular modem system test cases for mobile devices.
• Good understanding of mmWave challenges and 5G standalone protocols.
• Knowledge in test automation and scripting skills using Python.
• Broad understanding of end-to-end wireless system architecture.
