About the position

The position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in moderate sedation within an outpatient interventional radiology setting. The RN will be responsible for providing preoperative and recovery care, as well as administering moderate sedation during angiogram procedures. This role requires flexibility, as the RN will work one to two days per month, handling 2 to 5 patients per day, and may assist in various capacities depending on the number of procedures scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative and recovery care for patients undergoing angiogram procedures.
• Administer moderate sedation during procedures as needed.
• Evaluate and assess patients before and after procedures.
• Chart patient information accurately and timely.
• Recognize and document any adverse reactions to medications.
• Assist in the treatment of contrast reactions and respond to emergencies.
• Prepare patients for procedures, including medication administration and IV insertion.
• Use special equipment such as monitors and oxygen equipment effectively.
• Interpret cardiac arrhythmias and understand diagnostic tests and their preparations.

Requirements

• Active, current, and unencumbered RN License in the State of California.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 12 months recent experience recovering post-operative patients.
• Minimum of 12 months recent experience providing moderate sedation in a Cardiac Cath Lab or invasive procedural setting.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with interventional radiology procedures preferred but not required.
• Laboratory experience.
