About the position

The Modernization Solution Architect at The Emery Company is responsible for defining and implementing modernization strategies and tools that align with industry best practices. This role involves assessing current IT landscapes, developing architectural roadmaps, and proposing hybrid multi-cloud solutions to enhance innovation and security. The architect will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of IT services and compliance with governance standards, while also managing disaster recovery strategies and budgeting for technology investments.

Responsibilities

  • Define, build, and align modernization models and strategies with industry best practices.
  • Complete initial assessments to document the current landscape of applications and infrastructure.
  • Develop an architectural roadmap for modernization and migration efforts.
  • Propose cloud-related designs and elaborate on hybrid cloud models.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and build relationships with IT leaders and executives.
  • Develop and maintain application disaster recovery plans and coordinate testing of those plans.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's Technology Information Security standards.
  • Assist in developing the annual budget based on business requirements and forecasted technology investments.
  • Conduct workshops for knowledge transfer and alignment with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience leading large complex projects supporting transformation and modernization goals.
  • Current PMP/PMI Certification.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in information technology or infrastructure support, design, or analysis.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in assessing and designing disaster recovery solutions across on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to present to high-level stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain professional relationships.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of ITIL and IT Service Management.
  • Experience in various backup technologies and deploying large enterprise-scale backup and DR solutions.
