About the position

Princeton Dermatology Associates is seeking a full-time MOHS/Surgical Receptionist and Scheduler to join their team. The role involves managing surgical scheduling, particularly for MOHS surgeries, and providing front desk support. The ideal candidate will have experience in a dermatology practice, excellent customer service skills, and proficiency in practice management software.

Responsibilities

  • Answers patient phone calls/requests in a courteous, pleasant, efficient manner.
  • Schedules MOHS surgeries and other surgical procedures.
  • Utilizes the computer to schedule appointments and to access medical record information.
  • Retrieves and/or scans new patient information into the Medical Practice Management software (AdvancedMD) system.
  • Handles verification of patient insurance or payor information as needed.
  • Handles patient pre-certification/authorization with insurances as needed.
  • Utilizes the computer to generate daily patient list.
  • Checks voice mail for messages.
  • Prints a copy of the next day's schedule before leaving.
  • Reviews any patients that missed their appointments, makes a note in the patients chart, and calls them to reschedule.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent (Associates degree or BSC preferred).
  • Computer literacy in state of the art practice management and EHR medical software programs (AdvancedMD and EMA highly desired).
  • Ability to provide coverage for other offices as needed is a MUST!
  • Experience in basic cash collection techniques.
  • Must attend all staff meetings as scheduled.
  • At least two to five years of work experience in a similar role at a similar practice (dermatology).

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Advance MD (practice management software) and EMA (Electronic Medical Assistant; an EHR software) highly desired.
  • Prior experience in a Medical Dermatology office setting preferred.
