About the position
The Mold Set-Up Technician at Amcor is responsible for setting up molds and ensuring they operate within specified parameters efficiently and safely. This role is crucial in maintaining production quality and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The technician will also assist in training other operators and perform routine maintenance on machines and molds.
Responsibilities
- Set up molds and cycle them into specifications within a reasonable amount of time.
- Understand and perform the duties of a service technician, including material handling and mixing materials.
- Conduct quality control by distinguishing different defects and understanding dimensions.
- Troubleshoot minor problems with hydraulic and electrical systems of machines.
- Make adjustments to machines to ensure they run within specifications.
- Assist in maintaining GMP and housekeeping on assigned production lines.
- Train and assist other production operators in their duties.
- Perform attribute inspections and support production documentation.
- Work overtime as needed for vacation coverage and setups.
- Clean and perform preventive maintenance on molds and tooling.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5 years of work experience in a related field.
- Familiarity with plastic molding and troubleshooting machines.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
