About the position

The Mold Setter is responsible for setting and removing molds from injection molding machines, setting up raw material, any auxiliary equipment, and any needed components. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc.

Responsibilities

• Set all molds and auxiliary equipment per mold set-up instructions and set-up procedures.
• Set-up all needed raw materials.
• Set-up work cell and bring all required materials as called out on BOM.
• Remove all molds at end of run per procedures.
• Remove all materials from work cell from previous job.
• Maintain supply of Raw Materials for running orders.
• Plan and stage molds, material, and equipment for upcoming changeovers.
• Clean dryers and grinders.
• Maintain necessary tools and toolboxes required for job duties.
• Maintain water lines, jumpers, and oil lines.
• Clean inside machines and around work cell when completing set-ups.
• Report any defective equipment or tools.
• Serve as back up machine operator.

Requirements

• Knowledge of injection molding machines controls.
• Knowledge of material drying and blending.
• Knowledge of proper Lockout / Tagout procedures.
• Ability to read, understand and verbally communicate work instructions.
• Ability to perform inventory movement transactions.
• Understanding of basic math skills - adding, subtracting, and measuring.
• Ability to read drawings & blueprints.
• Ability to use judgement to identify potential safety hazards.
• Ability to use judgment related to identifying and segregating non-conforming materials and components.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to successfully train others.

Nice-to-haves

• AA Degree preferred.
• Previous forklift experience preferred.
