About the position
The Molding Utility position at Becton Dickinson involves assisting in the operation of Injection Molding presses while ensuring quality, productivity, and safety standards are met. The role includes material handling support, operating powered lift trucks, and maintaining cleanliness in the molding area. The position is essential for maintaining budgeted throughput rates and involves working collaboratively with various teams to achieve departmental goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation of Injection Molding presses while meeting quality and productivity goals.
- Handle stacking and corrugated case construction at presses based on production volume.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the designated area of the molding department.
- Observe all safety and environmental procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Familiarize with raw, in-process, or finished materials and ensure proper storage.
- Record and report waste accurately and assist in inventory control.
- Transport components from manufacturing to staging areas.
- Deliver molded components to the Raw Material Warehouse.
- Scan materials to storage locations in the warehouse.
- Remove materials from warehouse storage for transportation to production.
- Manage colorant and additives as needed.
- Maintain clean working conditions and report safety hazards immediately.
- Operate a forklift safely.
- Work with limited supervision and maintain cooperation among shifts and departments.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods as needed for production.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as required by supervision.
- Answer machine/equipment alarms as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
