About the position

The position involves ensuring compliance with company guidelines and maintaining high-quality standards in laboratory processes. The role requires processing and analyzing samples with minimal supervision, adhering to ISO quality standards, and supporting quality tasks within the laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all program and procedures are followed and implemented as described by the company guidelines.
• Maintain a high degree of quality while working efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Responsible for processing and analyzing samples collected from the farms with little to no supervision.
• Sample preparation and processing.
• Complete testing on a timely and accurate basis.
• Result tracking and reporting.
• Ensure lab safety objectives are met.
• Comply with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 quality standards.
• Perform validation studies.
• Provide support on quality tasks such as reviewing/drafting work instructions/forms and assisting with investigations.
• Cross-training in other laboratory departments as time permits.
• Perform other duties as required in the course of work.
• May be required to work on weekends as needed.
• Accurately process and analyze samples in a time-efficient manner.
• Follow procedures outlined in the laboratory work instructions.
• Responsible for the quality of work performed and the quality of the product produced.
• Follow company policy and meet established procedures regarding bio-security, animal welfare, safety, ISO requirements, and drug/alcohol policy.
• Ensure all possible controls are in place to preserve and protect the purity and security of samples from possible contamination, loss, or damage.
• Attendance is expected and required during normal working hours or during the assigned working schedule determined by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Previous laboratory experience preferred, with molecular diagnostics being a plus.
• Basic computer knowledge including creating documents and spreadsheets.
• Ability to communicate via email.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
• Self-motivated with the ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
• Ability to perform departmental duties with team members but also able to work alone.
• Computer application skills working with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
