About the position

The Level L1/L2 MongoDB Administrator is a senior-level position responsible for the design, implementation, and management of MongoDB databases. This role involves overseeing the database infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security. The DBA provides technical expertise, leads database projects, and collaborates with other IT teams to deliver robust and scalable database services.

Responsibilities

• Possess in-depth knowledge of MongoDB architecture, installation, and administration.
• Manage MongoDB, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
• Develop and test disaster recovery strategies to ensure data availability and business continuity.
• Enforce security measures, access controls, and encryption to protect sensitive data.
• Perform periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Identify and resolve complex performance bottlenecks, slow queries, and resource contention issues in MongoDB.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery strategies for MongoDB.
• Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures to ensure data recoverability.
• Set up proactive monitoring and alerting for database health and performance issues.
• Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to minimize service disruptions.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to streamline routine database management tasks.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Lead efforts to diagnose and resolve complex database-related issues.
• Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support and other teams to address escalated incidents.
• Lead database-related projects, such as database migrations, consolidations, and performance enhancements.
