About the position
The Overnight Monitor position at Abraxas Academy involves supervising at-risk adolescents during the night to ensure their safety and security. This role is crucial in helping these youth build better futures by providing guidance and support during their overnight stay. The position requires completing regular room checks and assisting with the morning wake-up routine, promoting the growth and development of the clients. Comprehensive training is provided, making it suitable for individuals without prior experience working with youth.
Responsibilities
- Supervise clients during sleeping hours to ensure safety and security.
- Complete and document regular room checks throughout the shift.
- Assist in managing the morning wake-up routine for clients.
- Educate, guide, and direct clients to promote their growth and development.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One (1) year applicable experience or an Associate's Degree preferred.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Valid Driver's License is required.
- Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances, and if necessary, FBI) are mandatory.
- Must pass a physical exam, drug test, and TB test.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with youth is a plus but not required.
