Monitor Tech/Unit Secretary PRN

About the position

Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, provides continuous monitor observation and rhythm strip documentation (documents rhythm strip on all monitored patients upon arrival with any change in rhythm). Performs all unit secretary duties for the nursing unit. As a member of the nursing unit, conducts self to promote an organized and positive environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform all unit secretary duties for the nursing unit.
• Promote an organized and positive environment within the nursing unit.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate as normally acquired through completion of high school.
• Understanding of department and hospital policies, procedures, and schedules, use of CRT, and basic knowledge of medical terminology usually acquired through three to six months of on-the-job experience.
• Training in cardiac monitoring and documentation; must achieve an 85% score on the Basic Arrhythmia test and demonstrate competency on skills checklist; CPR certification required.

Nice-to-haves
