About the position
The position is for an Elementary School Teacher at Tioga Elementary School, with an immediate start date. Responsibilities
- Special teaching assignments, curriculum and unit development, professional development support, and student interventions.
- Temporarily replace an absent Classroom Teacher as assigned by the Principal and/or District Administrator.
- Other teaching-based tasks as assigned by the Principal and/or District Administrator.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to learn effective instructional methods and materials.
- Design instructional activities that are structured and appropriate to instructional goals and student needs.
- Create a classroom environment of respect and caring with appropriate interactions with students.
- Establish a culture of learning by setting high expectations for student learning.
- Demonstrate effective management of classroom procedures and smooth transitions.
- Communicate with students by giving clear directions and using appropriate language and vocabulary.
- Engage students in learning by planning lessons and activities appropriate to students.
Requirements
- Appropriate and current Professional Educators License.
- Training and/or experience with elementary students.
- Broad-based knowledge of curriculum, teaching methodologies, assessment, and the State of Illinois Goals for Education.
