About the position

The Montessori Assistant Teacher plays a vital role in supporting the Montessori Guide or Lead Teacher in providing an authentic Montessori experience in an early education setting. This position involves engaging with children in a mixed-age classroom, facilitating interactive learning experiences, and ensuring the daily care of every child while adhering to licensing guidelines and school standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow all licensing guidelines, school, and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child.
• Facilitate fun and interactive learning experiences in an authentic Montessori classroom under the guidance of a Montessori Guide or Lead Teacher.
• Develop the ability to accurately observe, assess, and plan activities for children.
• Effectively communicate with families regarding children's progress and activities.
• Complete extensive training on child care and development topics.

Requirements

• Experience in a licensed child care center, Montessori school, or related field.
• Completed a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Met state requirements for education; additional school requirements may apply.

Nice-to-haves
