About the position

Khalsa Montessori School is seeking dedicated and passionate Substitute Teachers for our Montessori classrooms, which include Toddler (18 months - 3 years), Primary (3 - 6 years), and Elementary (9 - 12 years) levels. This part-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $15 to $17, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will be creative, loving, and kind, with a calm demeanor and the ability to adapt to various classroom situations. Dependability and organization are key traits we look for, as well as a genuine passion for working with children. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive and energetic learning environment. You will be responsible for managing classroom activities, ensuring that students are engaged and learning effectively. Strong classroom management skills are essential, as you will need to monitor students during lunch, recess, arrival, and dismissal, as well as during classroom activities. Experience in a Montessori setting is a plus, but not mandatory. We value teamwork and collaboration, so the ability to work well with other staff members is important. Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, with a college degree being a plus. A valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, CPR and First Aid certification, and a negative TB test are required for this position. Responsibilities

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree is a plus.
• 1 year of classroom management experience required.
• Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
• Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Negative TB Test required.
