About the position

A Child's Place's Ithan Montessori is seeking a full-time Classroom Teacher who will supervise and care for Montessori students aged 2-4. This role involves collaboration with other Montessori teachers to promote the social, emotional, academic, and physical growth of students. The ideal candidate will also serve as an Assistant Director, learning daily operations, supporting staff, and engaging with families.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of students in various settings to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
• Ensure the safety of students through constant supervision and effective management of space.
• Create an open, friendly, and cooperative atmosphere for children and families.
• Design an environment that responds to children's individual developmental levels and interests.
• Organize and lead activities to promote physical, mental, and social development.
• Provide language stimulation activities.
• Ensure parents receive adequate information about their child's experiences through daily contacts and reports.
• Assist with transitioning students to the next classroom.
• Complete appropriate paperwork in an organized manner.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and required trainings.
• Clean and maintain the classroom and playground environment.
• Engage with children in a positive manner.
• Maintain professional communication with coworkers, parents, and children.
• Conform to an established work schedule and adhere to all policies and regulations.
• Provide First Aid/CPR in emergencies, if certified.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Montessori Certification required.
• 2 years (2,500 hours) of verifiable experience working with children required, with preference for Montessori experience.
• Ability to pass and maintain all background/clearance checks.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping.
• Mobility to ensure the safety of children and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Visual and hearing capabilities for consistent supervision of children.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with the Montessori method or a strong interest in learning about it.
