About the position

The Monument Manager serves as the primary leadership position within the Bureau of Land Management, providing direction, coaching, and support to achieve the goals and programs of the Monument and associated Field Office. This role involves overseeing various management programs, personnel management functions, and resource planning in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, ensuring effective execution and review of all activities within the Monument/NCA.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to facilitate problem solving and accomplishment of Monument and Field Office goals.
• Administer management programs including safety, cost reduction, and employee engagement.
• Perform personnel management functions such as employee selection and performance evaluation.
• Conduct resource planning and management in coordination with federal, state, tribal, and local governments, as well as the public and private landowners.
• Oversee the execution and review of all activities within the Monument/NCA in coordination with the Field Manager.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must possess (or obtain within 30 days of entrance on duty) and maintain a valid state driver's license.
• One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level in public lands natural resource management.
• Experience in providing leadership and direction in program areas supporting multiple-use and ecosystem management.
