About the position

Rize Mortgage is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mortgage Closer / Funder to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will ensure the seamless and accurate closing and funding of residential mortgage loans, coordinating with various stakeholders to meet compliance and quality standards while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review loan files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and verify closing documents, including Closing Disclosures (CD) and wire instructions for funding.
  • Collaborate with title companies, attorneys, and third parties to confirm closing details and ensure loan settlement occurs as scheduled.
  • Communicate effectively with loan officers, processors, underwriters, and other team members to resolve any outstanding conditions prior to closing.
  • Verify all fees, loan terms, and disbursement amounts to ensure accuracy and adherence to loan estimates and closing documents.
  • Authorize wire transfers for loan funding and ensure timely delivery of funds for settlement.
  • Conduct final loan audits to validate loan compliance and documentation integrity prior to funding.
  • Monitor closing pipelines and manage workloads to ensure closings are completed within established timelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the closing and funding process.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of all closing and funding activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in mortgage closing, funding, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of residential mortgage loan processes, closing procedures, and regulatory compliance, including TRID guidelines.
  • Proficiency in mortgage loan systems and software (e.g., Calyx, DocMagic).
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
