About the position
The position involves monitoring the regulatory environment for consumer and governmental legislation to ensure compliance within the bank. Responsibilities include carrying out consumer complaint procedures, performing compliance reviews, assisting in regulatory exams, and conducting fair lending reviews. The role also requires collaboration with business partners to identify and mitigate fair lending risks, as well as managing HMDA compliance and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Continually monitors the regulatory environment for consumer and governmental legislation.
- Carries out consumer complaint procedures within the Compliance Management Software System.
- Performs Compliance Reviews based on regulatory hot topics.
- Assists in preparing materials and organizing regulatory exams/audits/inquiries.
- Conducts fair lending reviews utilizing the Bank's Fair Lending Software System.
- Performs semi-annual underwriting and pricing exception analysis reviews.
- Creates and fosters collaborative relationships with business partners.
- Identifies root causes of errors and ensures corrective actions are effective.
- Conducts periodic compliance monitoring for HMDA quality control.
- Responsible for the creation, preparation, and submission of the Bank's HMDA LAR.
- Collects, validates, and analyzes loan data for HMDA compliance.
- Collaborates to improve the current HMDA process through automation.
- Monitors and reviews changes in laws and regulations regarding HMDA.
- Attracts, advises, and serves existing or prospective customers.
- Participates in departmental meetings to develop and evaluate goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required or 3-5 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently to achieve goals and objectives.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
