About the position

At INTRUST Bank, we are looking for a dedicated individual to originate permanent FHA/VA and conventional residential mortgage loans while participating in related business development activities. This role involves soliciting residential mortgages through contacts with Realtors, builders, and developers, and providing fee income through mortgage loan originations. The successful candidate will develop and maintain banking relationships with residential mortgage customers, market bank products to existing and prospective customers, and promote an environment of teamwork within the department and across the bank. The position requires maintaining strict standards of confidentiality and performing duties in a manner that supports INTRUST's character qualities.

Responsibilities

  • Interview applicants to assimilate financial information concerning their personal needs.
  • Provide applicant with initial required disclosures and re-disclosures in the correct timeframe mandated by regulations.
  • Obtain and analyze proper financial and credit data to determine applicant's capacity to repay.
  • Provide applicant with initial pre-qualification letter.
  • Conduct credit checks and negotiate terms and conditions of loan.
  • Attract new mortgage loan applications by developing relationships within the community, specifically with the real estate community; making sales calls to prospective customers.
  • Keep informed of trends and developments in the local real estate markets, as well as the changing rules and regulations pertaining to both private and government-insured mortgages.
  • Stay informed of loan programs and interest rates.
  • Attend mortgage loan closings.
  • Review pipeline to ensure that customer closing expectations are met and that expired, canceled, denied, or withdrawn files have the appropriate action taken in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years Residential Real Estate Origination experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mortgage processing, underwriting and closing procedures.
  • Knowledge of conventional and government lending guidelines.
  • Understanding of Federal Regulations governing Real Estate Lending.
  • Nationwide Mortgage Lending System (NMLS) Registered or ability to meet qualifications for registration.
