About the position

As a Mortgage Loan Closer at TEKsystems, you will play a crucial role in the closing process of first mortgage loans, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws, as well as company policies and procedures. This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the mortgage industry, as no prior experience is required. You will receive full paid training to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this role. Your primary responsibilities will include researching, analyzing, and resolving system issues that may arise during the loan closing process. You will prepare mortgage packages for delivery to settlement companies and coordinate the closing and funding of assigned loan packages. Monitoring the mortgage loan process is essential, as you will ensure compliance with laws, practices, guidelines, and regulations throughout the process. Additionally, you will verify the completeness and accuracy of approved credit packages and determine the amount to be withheld from loan proceeds, processing internal payoffs and preparing requests for loan disbursement. Maintaining communication with lawyers, settlement agents, and real estate brokers regarding the status of closing packages is a key aspect of this role. You will also prepare fully executed mortgage files for post-closing, ensuring that all necessary documentation is in order. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and the capability to work well both in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision. The work environment is hybrid, requiring you to be onsite two times per week, and you will need high-speed internet access to perform your duties effectively. Training will be conducted during specific hours, and you must be flexible with your working hours as shifts may vary. Responsibilities

  • Close first mortgage loans in accordance with applicable federal/state laws and company policies & procedures
  • Research, analyze, and problem solve system issues
  • Prepare mortgage packages for delivery to Settlement companies
  • Coordinate the closing & funding of assigned loan packages
  • Monitor mortgage loan process & ensure compliance with laws, practices, guidelines & regulations
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of approved credit packages
  • Determine amount to be withheld from loan proceeds, request and process internal payoffs and prepare request for loan disbursement
  • Ensure credit, underwriting and property conditions have been satisfied prior to closing
  • Maintain contact with lawyers, settlement agents and real estate brokers regarding the status of closing package
  • Prepare fully executed mortgage file for post-closing

Requirements

  • No prior mortgage or financial services experience is required - Full paid training is provided
  • High school diploma or equivalent is needed
  • Must be proficient with basic office software
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and share important loan application data
  • Ability to work effectively on their own with minimal supervision
  • Basic understanding of the loan application and approval process
  • Strong interpersonal skills
