About the position
The Mortgage Loan Closer at Liberty Bank and Trust is responsible for completing all closing paperwork on behalf of the lender, ensuring mortgage regulatory compliance, and facilitating the closing process. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of the loan closing process and supporting the bank's mission to provide access to affordable financial products and services to underserved communities.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain all closing documents to ensure compliance with government standards.
- Fund completed loans and submit funding wires through the wire exchange portal.
- Prepare and remit the Closing Disclosure, answer borrower questions, and schedule closing meetings.
- Maintain accurate and current mortgage files and email executed packages to the post-closing team.
- Serve as a liaison between lenders and investors, ensuring timely submission for booking and secondary market sales.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training.
- Familiarity with loan closing and documentation procedures is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and banking software such as Encompass.
- Demonstrated ability to express ideas clearly in writing and edit for accuracy in spelling and grammar.
- Skilled in managing customer interactions and resolving concerns effectively.
