About the position
The Mortgage Loan Closer/Post Closer is responsible for finalizing the mortgage loan process by ensuring that all necessary documents are accurately prepared, signed, and legally binding. This role involves preparing closing documents, validating file information, and communicating with customers to satisfy investor requirements for sold loans.
Responsibilities
- Send out early closing disclosure
- Prepare closing documents and validate file information
- Review loan amount
- Review interest rate
- Review upfront funding fee for FHA and VA
- Review appraisal
- Review title work
- Review homeowners insurance paid invoice or receipt
- Review private mortgage insurance certificate
- Review at closing conditions
- Verify closing date and time with title company
- Finalize and send out closing disclosure
- Back up Post-Closing as needed
- Post close loan and ship to investor
- Communicate as necessary with customers to satisfy investor requirements for sold loans
- Explain all documentation, obtain and verify signatures on documents, distribute loan closing packages
- Prepare loan documents for transmittal
- Prepare loan documents for entry into system
- Create and maintain a courteous and professional relationship with co-workers while maintaining timely and prompt daily attendance
Requirements
- Two to four years related job experience
- Customer service experience
- Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously
- Good attention to detail and confident ability to make decisions
- Ability to work independently
- High school diploma or equivalency (GED)
- Specialized training in computer operating systems, Microsoft Windows/Office and in bank technology
