About the position
The Mortgage Loan Closer plays a crucial role in UMB's mortgage operations team, ensuring that the mortgage closing process runs smoothly and complies with all necessary regulations. This position involves gathering, reviewing, and preparing essential documents for mortgage closings, serving as the primary point of contact for clients, attorneys, closing agents, and vendors. The role requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills to manage the fast-paced nature of the mortgage industry effectively.
Responsibilities
- Gather, review, and prepare critical documents for mortgage closings.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements before finalizing documents.
- Act as the point of contact for clients, attorneys, closing agents, and vendors.
- Answer questions and relay important information to ensure timely delivery of documents.
- Utilize interpersonal skills to connect with clients and provide support throughout the mortgage process.
- Organize and manage the steps in the mortgage process to ensure efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of current mortgage closing experience or a combination of mortgage experience that includes mortgage closing experience.
