Mortgage Loan Closer

About the position

As a Mortgage Closer at HCLTech, you will be responsible for preparing loan closing packages and ensuring compliance with all necessary documentation and state requirements. This role involves reviewing loan files, coordinating with settlement agents, and authorizing funding, all while maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare loan closing packages and Closing Disclosures (CD).
• Review loan files to ensure all conditions are cleared and ready for closing.
• Review title commitments to ensure all title issues are resolved before drawing closing documents.
• Input accurate data into the Client's system for drawing closing documents.
• Coordinate the delivery of closing documents to the settlement agent.
• Ensure compliance with state requirements during the closing process.
• Review underwriting conditions and coordinate with settlement agents for final fees.
• Review the Closing Disclosure for compliance and balance with title.
• Check returned documents for accuracy and completeness before funding.
• Authorize and arrange for funding wire or check, meeting warehouse requirements.
• Assist with post-closing corrections and audits.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency with MS Office, Excel, and Mortgage Loan Applications/Software.
• Six to twelve months of prior loan closing experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• College degree desired.
• Experience with Loan Origination Systems (LOS) preferred.
