About the position

The position is responsible for closing all secondary and in-house mortgage loans at GreenState Credit Union. The role emphasizes creating lasting value for employees, members, and communities, fostering a positive member service focus, and ensuring confidentiality of member information. The employee will engage in community service and build relationships within the real estate community, while also managing various tasks related to mortgage loan processing and closing.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards.
  • Demonstrate a positive member service focus at all times.
  • Build and maintain relationships in the real estate community.
  • Field and return phone calls/emails from borrowers regarding their mortgage loan.
  • Schedule closings with members and involved parties in the absence of the MLO or Mortgage Associate.
  • Order necessary documents to support the loan application and ensure complete documentation of the loan file.
  • Review and verify title work is clear to close and work with all parties to clear title objections.
  • Submit file information to automated underwriting system and verify accuracy of findings.
  • Organize documents in appropriate order in the LOS system and submit final applications to underwriting for approval.
  • Follow up on prior to docs and closing conditions for loans.
  • Verify accuracy of homeowners insurance and flood insurance if applicable.
  • Request closing numbers and all transfer documentation from closing agents, realtors, and attorneys.
  • Send and monitor the closing disclosure to verify it has been sent at least 3 days in advance of closing.
  • Prepare closing documents and closing disclosure statement.
  • Verify all fees and invoices have been collected and issue checks accordingly.
  • Organize documents for timely delivery to investors and prompt recording of mortgages.
  • Resolve any secondary market suspensions or deficiencies and follow up on missing documentation.
  • Assist in year-end verification of HMDA reporting and 1098/1099 statements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED).
  • Minimum of one year previous related work experience.
  • Ability to provide quality service to members by phone, in person, or by email.
  • Interpersonal skills to represent the Credit Union positively during member contact.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and organize work efficiently.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail required.
  • Lending policies and Real Estate knowledge helpful.
  • Must be bondable.
