The Mortgage Loan Officer will play a crucial role in this mission by making sales calls and originating first mortgage loan requests from both new and existing members. This position is based at the Corporate Headquarters in Downtown Baltimore, where the incumbent will be required to report in-office initially, with the possibility of a hybrid schedule after 90 days of successful performance. The primary responsibilities of the Mortgage Loan Officer include interviewing and analyzing the credit history of applicants to assess their loan repayment capabilities. The officer will negotiate credit terms, including costs, repayment methods, and collateral specifications, all while adhering to Credit Union guidelines and compliance with state and federal laws. The role also involves directing and implementing business development activities, such as reaching out to members and realtors for loan prospects, and participating in the Credit Union's outreach initiatives. Local travel within Baltimore City and Baltimore County will be necessary to foster relationships with partners such as real estate brokers, realtors, and builders to generate mortgage loan business. In addition to these duties, the Mortgage Loan Officer is expected to develop relationships with Credit Union branches and manage a workload with competing deadlines and priorities. The ideal candidate will possess strong mathematical and analytical skills, excellent interpersonal communication abilities, and the capacity to work independently as well as part of a team. The role requires a detail-oriented approach to deliver accurate work in a fast-paced, member-focused environment. The Mortgage Loan Officer will also be responsible for building a book of business and proactively seeking ways to expand customer relationships, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
