About the position

The Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant - NON-QM position is a full-time, in-house role focused on supporting loan officers in processing and underwriting NON-QM mortgage applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in NON-QM processing and underwriting, and will be responsible for preparing and reviewing borrower documentation, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining communication with management and third parties. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a leading private money mortgage lender.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit borrower documentation and disclosures.
  • Review dates, signatures, and accuracy of documents.
  • Prepare files by reviewing loan applications and obtaining additional documents when needed.
  • Review and submit Client Support documents.
  • Request Borrower's documents such as Verification of Employment, Verification of Rent, and Verification of Mortgage.
  • Submit and track loans, ensuring timely receipt of documents.
  • Keep the pipeline sheet up to date and follow up on ordered documents.
  • Effectively communicate with Management, Loan Officers, and third parties.
  • Enter loan applications and client details accurately into the CRM or Encompass loan system.
  • Create and send out disclosures through Encompass.
  • Develop workflow with Loan Officers to ensure processing efficiency.
  • Manage processing expectations of the Loan Officers.

Requirements

  • Experience in NON-QM processing is required.
  • Highly preferred experience in NON-QM underwriting.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Proficiency in technology and software, including Encompass and Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of experience with NON-QM mortgage processing.
  • Experience ordering appraisals and knowledge of Title Documentation.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in email.
