About the position

The Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for generating loan volume through sales efforts with builders, realtors, and other contacts. This role requires experience in FHA, VA, and conventional lending, along with strong communication skills to effectively serve customers and manage the loan process from sale to closing.

Responsibilities

• Contact individuals, realtors, and builders to expand network contacts and generate sales.
• Engage in marketing and promotional activities, including giving presentations to groups.
• Consult with customers to compile loan applications and negotiate terms and conditions.
• Collect, compile, and analyze information for loan approval.
• Communicate with clients, answering questions and providing information throughout the loan process.
• Follow up with processors to ensure timely loan closings.
• Maintain knowledge of FHA, VA, and conventional loan rules and regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Experience in outside sales with FHA, VA, and conventional lending.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work as a productive team player and learn quickly.
• PC literacy with typing skills of 35 WPM.
• Knowledge of basic underwriting guidelines preferred.
• Strong sales and negotiating skills.
