About the position

The Mortgage Loan Officer (External) at Ent Credit Union is responsible for assisting members and potential members in identifying and securing mortgage loans that align with their financial goals, particularly home ownership. This role involves responding to inquiries, analyzing financial information, and determining suitable mortgage products while also engaging in business development activities to expand the credit union's reach.

Responsibilities

• Work with members to identify and secure appropriate mortgage loans.
• Respond to and follow up on member inquiries from various sources.
• Collect and analyze members' financial information to assess their financing circumstances.
• Review competing offers from other mortgage lenders and understand the features of various loan products.
• Engage in external business development through contacts, events, and seminars.
• Take applications and review initial findings and decisions.
• Analyze asset, income, and Desktop Underwriter (DU) required data independently.
• Collect data and appraisal fees from members.
• Refer members to other Ent departments as needed.
• Adhere to policies and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent.
• 1+ years of mortgage industry origination or sales experience.
• 5+ years of mortgage experience with 2+ years in mortgage sales origination.
• Detailed understanding of FNMA, CHFA, FHA, and VA products and underwriting requirements.
• Strong technical experience with PCs, Excel, database software, and web knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills.
• NMLS Registration in good standing.
• Driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
