About the position

The Mortgage Loan Officer position at Capital Bank N.A. involves originating residential mortgage loans while providing exceptional customer service. The role requires proactive engagement with real estate agents, prospective homebuyers, and builder sales representatives to develop a network for referrals. The officer will manage the loan pipeline and ensure compliance with investor guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Market residential mortgage loan products to real estate agents, prospective homebuyers, and builder sales representatives.
• Spend 25% or more of the workday conducting marketing activities and closing business outside of the work-site.
• Originate loan applications ensuring correct pricing and compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Assist the processor in securing needed documentation for loan approval.
• Constantly review investor guidelines to remain current with agency and individual investor requirements.
• Maintain high levels of customer service while managing applicant and support staff expectations.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years' work experience originating residential mortgages.
• Experience in originating loans for sale to FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA, and/or CDA preferred.
• Experience using a mortgage loan management system is required; Encompass experience highly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
