As a Mortgage Loan Officer, your primary responsibility will be to originate mortgage loans while managing incoming calls from customers. You will provide exceptional customer service through timely follow-ups and professional correspondence, establishing and building relationships with customers and partners, such as real estate agents. Your role will involve analyzing clients' needs to ensure compliance and maximum customer satisfaction, guiding borrowers through the loan process from inquiry to closing, and ensuring the successful completion of all required training and licensing activities. You will also need to maintain a deep understanding of various loan programs, including FHA, VA, Conventional, ARM, and Jumbo loans, and successfully structure loans for fulfillment partners to underwrite, process, and fund. This position is categorized as an office role, requiring employees to work at a designated ZG corporate office for approximately 80 to 100 percent of their time each month. Employees must live within a reasonable commuting distance of their designated office, which is expected to be determined using personal judgment regarding time commitment and commuting costs. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role are eligible for incentive compensation and equity awards, with actual amounts varying based on experience, performance, and location.

Responsibilities

  • Originate mortgage loans
  • Answer and manage incoming calls from customers
  • Provide exceptional customer service through timely follow up and courteous professional correspondence
  • Establish and build relationships with customers and partners such as real estate agents
  • Analyze clients' needs in order to ensure compliance and maximum customer satisfaction
  • Consult with borrowers and guide them through the loan process from inquiry to close, including securing borrower financial/credit information and other proper documentation
  • Ensure successful completion of all assigned Mortgage Loan Officer Training and Licensing activities
  • Understand and comply with current requirements of applicable federal and state laws and regulations
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of available loan programs including FHA, VA, Conventional, ARM, Jumbo, etc.
  • Successfully structure loans for fulfillment partners to underwrite, process, and fund
  • Collaborate with team members and share best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Active NMLS Loan Originator with multiple state licenses, or a Loan Originator working under a bank license (required)
  • Successfully completed the 20-hr SAFE Pre-licensing Education and passed the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test - National Component with Uniform State Content (required)
  • 1+ years of mortgage sales experience (required)
  • 2+ years of sales, call center, and customer service experience highly preferred
  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
  • Financial/business background preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Passionate about client relationships and consultative selling
  • Confident working in a phone sales environment and able to clearly and effectively communicate over phone, email, text, etc.
