About the position

First Federal Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer in Nampa, Idaho, who is passionate about serving the community and providing exceptional customer service. As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you will be responsible for producing consistent mortgage and consumer loan production in accordance with the bank's Loan Policy and Procedures. You will play a key role in developing new business and maintaining existing relationships, contributing to the bank's profit and growth by achieving goals related to expense control and profitable product sales. In this role, you will develop referral relationships with builders, real estate brokers, and sales agents to generate sufficient mortgage loan business to meet the branch's assigned goals. You will take applications, analyze customer information, and recommend appropriate financial products while educating and communicating with customers throughout the loan process. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing loan requests, ordering credit reports, and validating borrower information. You will need to stay updated on new legislation and regulations affecting mortgage lending policies and ensure compliance with all applicable acts, laws, and regulations. Additionally, if you are in a management role, you may be responsible for building a cohesive team, conducting staff meetings, and overseeing lending activities for the branch. Consistent attendance at community events to promote the bank is also expected. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for producing consistent mortgage and consumer loan production within the scope of the Bank's Loan Policy and Procedures.
  • Provides quality customer service to develop new business and maintain existing relationships.
  • Contributes to profit and growth by achieving goals for expense control, profitable product sales, and cross-selling bank products and services.
  • Develops referral relationships with builders, real estate brokers, sales agents, and others to generate mortgage loan business.
  • Establishes and helps to attain internal performance objectives for branch lending volume and loan portfolios.
  • Takes applications, analyzes customer information, and recommends appropriate financial products.
  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion in working with customers regarding loan products.
  • Outlines loan terms and conditions, and keeps the customer informed.
  • Reviews loan requests based on the bank's policies and procedures.
  • Orders credit reports and validates borrower's credit and customer information as required on loan requests.
  • Directs central appraisal ordering department to order appraisals.
  • Assists in preparation of loan packages in accordance with the bank's standards.
  • Stays abreast of new legislation and regulations affecting mortgage lending policies.
  • Handles inquiries from applicants, realtors, and processing personnel, resolving customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Completes all required mission logs and call reports required by management.

Requirements

  • A High school diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of one-year current mortgage lending experience.
  • Ability to work and operate computer applications and equipment including copy machine, telephone, scanner, or other basic business equipment.

Nice-to-haves
